What You Will Be Doing
  • Reception and concierge services
  • Coordinate all customer meeting room and event area bookings
  • Respond to emails, messages and phone calls in a timely manner
  • Advise users on meeting room availability and suitability
  • Greet guests in a polite, friendly and professional manner
  • Assist with organising catering requests and dietary requirements
  • Manage room set ups with hosts and ensure rooms are ready on time
  • Maintain a high standard of presentation in meeting rooms
  • Identify executive and board meetings for coffee/drinks/snacks
  • Monitor rooms with wait staff to ensure readiness for meetings
  • Liaise with wait staff on room requirements
  • Coordinate setting and resetting of event spaces and meeting rooms
  • Coordinate delivery operations and resolve issues at the loading dock
  • Maintain daily statistics on room usage
  • First point of contact for room issues with timely resolution
  • Prepare and serve beverages as required
  • Provide coverage for the Manager – Customer Floor & Catering Services when on leave
  • Develop close working relationships with Event Managers and executive support staff
  • Assist with housekeeping and setting of meeting rooms; ensure reception area is clean and organized
  • Maintain stock and order consumables
  • Process invoices and credit card transactions
  • Assist with any other facilities or service-related duties as directed
What You Will Bring

Must have

  • 5+ years experience in a corporate event and/or catering role
  • Reception experience including answering a switchboard and managing meeting rooms
  • Experience supervising small events
  • Barista experience
  • Valid Responsible Service of Alcohol
  • Valid Food Handling Certificate
  • Silver service experience
  • Ability to work as part of a small team and a hands-on attitude
  • Delivered a high standard of customer service
  • Strong problem solving, organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Moderate knowledge of MS Office, including Outlook
  • Ability to work with all levels of management
  • Knowledge of Work Health and Safety responsibilities in a corporate catering environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently

Nice to have

  • 2–3 years reception experience in a 5-star hotel
  • Experience serving all levels of management
  • Current first aid certificate
  • Interpersonal skills to communicate across diverse groups
