Clinical Midwifery Educator - C2 West (Maternity Ward) - Wollongong Hospital

Are you an experienced midwife with a passion for teaching, mentoring, and making an impact? This temporary full-time position supports parental leave relief until 4 October 2026 with potential extension. Applications close 3 September 2025.

Overview

This role involves guiding and mentoring midwives and students, building clinical confidence, and delivering high-standard, woman-centred care in one of the busiest maternity services in the Illawarra. You will:

  • Deliver engaging education, training, and clinical skills assessments
  • Support staff across Birth Unit, Antenatal Clinic, Postnatal, and Newborn Care
  • Mentor students, early-career midwives, and new team members
  • Promote high-quality, evidence-based care
  • Collaborate with the education and maternity leadership team
Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical teaching and mentorship to support midwifery staff and students
  • Develop and deliver education programs and assess clinical skills
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of woman-centred care practices
  • Engage with the Maternity Education team to align with service goals
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Applicable vaccination requirements for a Category A role
  • Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • Current AHPRA Registration
  • Eligibility to work in Australia
