Lecturer - Masters Of Social Work (Qualifying) - Melbourne

About the Role
As a Lecturer of Master of Social Work (Qualifying), you will be responsible for the ongoing development, improvement, and delivery of the program, ensuring compliance with the Higher Education Standards Framework. You will work to provide a high-quality, student-centric experience and map to the units delivered in the program. Staying current with emerging principles and best practices is essential. Working from home during non-teaching hours is an option for this position.
These roles are permanent full-time or part-time, based in Melbourne. Sessional employment will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Develop and deliver face-to-face teaching, student engagement sessions, and learning materials.
- Create learning resources including study guides, webinars, and assessment instructions for assigned subjects.
- Provide student support via face-to-face, LMS, phone, or email.
- Encourage student engagement in their studies.
- Assess student assessments in accordance with policies.
- Identify at-risk students and develop individual learning plans as needed.
- Maintain subject sites on the Learning Management System.
About You
You should have an AASW-approved qualification at PhD level or Level 9 (Masters) with at least 5 years of relevant teaching, research, or professional experience in social work or community services. Alternatively, completion of at least two-thirds of a relevant Doctorate or PhD (Level 10) plus 3 years of relevant experience. Additionally, you will have:
- Experience in developing tertiary curricula and teaching materials.
- Ability to coordinate and deliver tertiary subjects successfully.
- High professional and ethical standards, resilience, and a collaborative approach.
- A strong understanding of social work theory and practice.
- Eligibility for AASW membership.
