About the Role

This is a full-time, employee role for someone who enjoys variety, builds strong relationships, and thrives in a well-organised, cloud-based environment. You'll be responsible for managing your own portfolio of clients, overseeing their bookkeeping, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our systems and processes.

You'll be working across tasks like:

Managing client communication and relationships

End-to-end bookkeeping including BAS and IAS lodgements

Accounts payable and receivable

Monthly/quarterly review of accounts and reporting

Reviewing the work of other team members and providing feedback

Identifying opportunities for streamlining and automation

Using tools like Xero, Karbon, Employment Hero Payroll, Dext, and others daily

This role likely won't suit you if:

You're only available part-time, operate your own business, or can't commit to a Monday–Friday schedule during standard business hours

You need ongoing direction or prefer to work in a traditional office

You've only worked in tax, accounting, or public practice roles with limited hands-on bookkeeping

You don't have 5+ years of relevant Australian bookkeeping experience across end-to-end tasks

You've only worked in single-entity businesses - experience in a multi-client environment is strongly preferred

What You'll Bring

Minimum 5 years of recent hands-on Australian bookkeeping experience

Experience must include working in a bookkeeping-specific environment (such as a bookkeeping firm or outsourced bookkeeping provider)

Proven skills across BAS, IAS, payroll, super, Workcover, payroll tax, AP/AR

Experience reviewing and managing other team members' work

Highly tech-savvy with a proven ability to adapt and learn new systems quickly and efficiently

Strong understanding of Xero and confidence with new systems

Excellent communication skills and high attention to detail

A positive, proactive approach and a genuine desire to do great work

A qualification in bookkeeping or accounting

Live in Eastern Australia

Have experience using Karbon or Employment Hero Payroll

Have supported junior staff or worked in a leadership capacity
