We are seeking a Clinical Unit Head to provide clinical management and leadership to the Public Health Unit. This senior leadership role reports directly to the Executive Director, Community and Public Health Services (Operationally), and the Chief Medical Officer (Professionally), with a dotted line to the Director, PHU.

The position is suited for a Public Health Physician or Infectious Diseases Physician. Responsibilities include:

  • clinical governance
  • service planning
  • regional leadership
  • education
  • research

The Clinical Unit Head will oversee clinical service delivery and lead a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, cohesive operations.

The Loddon Mallee Public Health Unit (LMPHU) aims to maintain community health, safety, and well-being by leveraging local knowledge and community engagement to deliver tailored public health initiatives and respond effectively to regional incidents and issues.

Qualifications include:

  • Current registration as a medical practitioner in Australia
  • Fellowship with a relevant college (e.g., Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine, RACP in Infectious Diseases, or equivalent)
  • Extensive knowledge of current trends impacting public sector health services in Australia
  • Higher degree in research, public health, or equivalent training and experience
