Located one hour south of Sydney in the Illawarra region, Novotel Wollongong Northbeach is a premium 4.5-star beachfront hotel with 209 rooms and suites, five food and beverage outlets, a pool, fitness centre, convenience store, and 15 versatile event spaces for weddings, conferences, and large-scale functions.

We are currently hiring chefs of all levels who will contribute to the success of our à la carte kitchen and create delectable dishes for our guests. If you are passionate about cooking and eager to work in a dynamic, creative culinary environment, we want to hear from you

Available shifts will predominately cover afternoon/evening hours with start times of 12pm, 1pm or 2pm.

• Casual/Commis/Demi Chefs
• Assist in the preparation and production of various dishes
• Follow recipes and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality
• Maintain a clean and organised workspace
• Learn and develop culinary skills under the guidance of senior chefs
• Assist in the receiving and storage of food and supplies
• Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations and oversee food preparation
• Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and high-energy work environment
• Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen in compliance with health and safety regulations
• Manage inventory, order supplies and minimise waste to optimise kitchen efficiency
• Assist with menu development and special event planning

• Culinary degree or relevant culinary training is preferred
• Comfortable in Grill, Pans, and Fryer sections
• Previous experience in a hotel or banquets environment is an advantage
• A passion for culinary arts and creativity in the kitchen
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Evening and weekend availability required
