Are you a strong leader with a passion for delivering quality outcomes in the building and construction sector? We're seeking a Manager Claims to lead and manage the Claims Approval Team within Resolution Services – Claims Management. In this pivotal role, you'll oversee the assessment and management of claim entitlements under the Home Warranty Insurance Scheme, specifically relating to defective and incomplete residential construction work. You'll work collaboratively with stakeholders across Rectification Delivery, Regulatory Services Strategy, and Operations Dispute Resolution to ensure seamless project delivery, regulatory compliance, and strong team performance. The position is based in Brisbane, and the successful candidate will have the option to work from home for up to two days per week under an approved Flexible Work Arrangement that suits the team.

Key Outcomes and Accountabilities

  1. Lead and manage the claims operations within Resolution Services for the Queensland Home Warranty Scheme (QHWS).
  2. Respond to complaints from customers in relation to claims.
  3. Regularly review performance and hold timely performance discussions with all team members.

Candidate Attributes

  • A demonstrated ability to lead and manage multiple operational teams, including remote team members.
  • A demonstrated ability to achieve results by providing high level guidance on the application of legislation, policies, processes, and procedures and building organisational capability and responsiveness.
  • A demonstrated ability to build productive working relationships, facilitate cooperation and partnerships, and identify innovative solutions involving technology to resolve issues.
  • An ability to develop and implement strategies for dealing with change to engage with risk and achieve outcomes while displaying resilience.
  • Communicates clearly with influence, listening, adapting to audience, and negotiating persuasively.

Desirable Requirements

  • Whilst not mandatory, previous claim experience in the building and construction and insurance industries would be highly regarded.
