Location Profile

Thank you for your interest in the Admin support position at Noble Park English Language School. Our school is a multi-campus institution providing intensive English language courses for newly arrived migrants and refugees from non-English speaking backgrounds in southeast Victoria.

The curriculum introduces students to the Victorian education system and aids in their settlement in Victoria. It focuses on English language studies but also prepares students for life in Australia. Many students have experienced displacement due to war, economic hardship, or political persecution. The school is dedicated to helping students rebuild trust, develop self-esteem, and gain confidence to face new challenges.

Over 50 different language groups are represented at any given time. The school offers a secure, caring environment where respect and tolerance for cultural and religious differences are fostered, accommodating individual language acquisition needs.

Since 2009, the school has expanded to four campuses in response to changing settlement patterns. The main campus at Noble Park caters to both primary and secondary students. Other campuses include Casey (Hampton Park), Springvale, and Stonnington (Glen Huntly), primarily for primary students.

Applicants must hold a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).

Role

Attendance requirements: This position involves tasks performed under supervision, including coordinating other support staff or educational programs. It supports educational services but does not include teaching duties as defined by legislation. Supervision of students may involve small groups or individuals, with responsibility remaining with teachers.

Qualifications of up to three years may be required, excluding nursing roles at this level.

Possible responsibilities include:

  • Supporting specific functions such as data management or coordinating work areas.
  • Assisting teachers within educational programs.
  • Providing health, wellbeing, or specialized support roles requiring specific qualifications or training.
  • Performing technical tasks in areas like libraries, science, or IT, based on established guidelines.

Initially, roles may involve routine tasks under close supervision, with increasing independence as experience is gained.

Responsibilities

  • Providing clerical and administrative support, including communication, record management, and data entry.
  • Supporting school operations, including scheduling, procurement, and client reception.
  • Liaising with staff regarding support needs and coordinating various administrative functions.
  • Supporting first aid and health-related activities.
