About the team
The Coles Group Self Insurance team protects our team members, customers, and business in workers compensation and public liability matters. As a national team, we engage and collaborate across all Coles brands including Coles Supermarkets, Coles Liquor Retail, Coles Manufacturing and our Supply Chain business. We are a trusted business partner that helps to facilitate recovery and return to life for our injured team members and customers.

We have an exciting opportunity available for an auditing and continuous improvement expert in workers compensation and are ready to welcome a dynamic individual to our workplace.

What you'll do
Reporting to the Workers Compensation Performance and Assurance Manager you'll be responsible for auditing of the claims management practices and help to implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, compliance and importantly the experience for our injured team members.
You will:
- Develop and implement a master audit plan primarily across workers compensation claims management to reduce risk, improve quality and provide assurance that regulatory requirements are being met.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to the design, implementation and change management of effective solutions to address any adverse trends found.
- Monitor action plans until controls are implemented effectively.
- Report on outcomes of audits and any associated trends on good practice or concerns.
About you and your skills
To be successful in this position you will need:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in workers compensation claims management with experience in end to end claims management (i.e. liability determination to claim closure) in at least one jurisdiction.
- Experience working in compliance or auditing related role and influencing improved outcomes.
- Expert understanding of laws and regulations applicable to Australian workers compensation environment and licencing requirements in one highly audited state with clear aptitude for quickly learning the other seven jurisdictions.
- Experience in working in ambiguity, fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.
- Attention to detail and organisational skills
- Excellent analysis and reporting ability using Microsoft software and claims management systems.
