Gypsy Hub Pty Ltd is an award-winning beverage manufacturer, having worked with many distillers and brewers, as well as start-ups over many years.

Gypsy Hub can offer a full end-to-end service, from recipe and development, right through to producing and packaging your commercially ready product. We also offer bonded warehousing facilities. We operate out of our state-of-the-art, SQF, Organic and SEDEX certified facility in Melbourne's inner North.

About the role:

A unique opportunity exists for an experienced Distiller & or Brewer looking for a senior leadership position with Gypsy Hub.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Day-to-day operations of the Still and Brewhouse, ensuring production goals, quality standards, and timelines are met.
  • Work closely with the Sales team on NPD and R&D for contract customers.
  • Be responsible for regulatory compliance and record keeping for excise, storage and production processing.
  • Facilitate handover of liquid in tank to the packaging team.
  • Drive the ongoing research and development of our spirits, beer and broader product range, bring creativity and innovation to the forefront.
  • Work closely with the Production Technician to oversee the maintenance and calibration of distillation, brewing and blending equipment, and supplementary services.
  • Review, prepare and maintain all SOP's for brewing, distilling and blending equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations concerning distillery and brewery operations, including health & safety and environmental standards.
  • 5 years plus experience in commercial distillation and brewing.
  • Qualifications (or equivalent experience) in Management, Food Technology, Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Brewing/Distilling sciences qualification (IBD or tertiary equivalent).
  • Proven track record in developing, scaling and implementing successful new products and recipes.
  • Solid experience with ATO excise requirements and record keeping.
  • Strong GMP and health and safety focus.
  • 'Hands on' approach and team player.
  • The ability to investigate issues and proactively determine a solution.
  • Solid communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities to motivate and develop your team.
  • Ability to work flexible hours during peak periods.
