Eucalyptus Oil Distiller

The role of an Oil Refinery Technician involves operating and maintaining distillation equipment, ensuring smooth production of eucalyptus oil. This is a hands-on position that requires operating machinery and being part of a close-knit team.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate boiler and ancillary equipment, including biomass feed silo and automated control system.
- Operate distillery equipment, including separators, water softening apparatus, crane operated vat lids, tractor, forklift, side tipping vat trailers, and telehandler (loading).
- Arrange removal of ash, blowdown water, and distilled oil.
- Assist with accurately weighing and recording eucalyptus oil produced and arrange for shipping pickups.
- When distillation is complete, remove lids, move, and unload spent material.
- Carry out routine maintenance and repairs as required.
- Loading and unloading of vats using telehandler.
- Provide occasional support to the harvesting team as directed.
- Holding a current Boiler Certificate is essential.
- A valid Victorian Driver’s licence is also mandatory.
- Experience working in agriculture, horticulture, or forestry operations would be beneficial.
- The ability to work independently in a remote farm environment is vital.
- Operational experience with farm and harvesting machinery is necessary.
- A strong mechanical aptitude with basic farm equipment repair skills is required.
- Experienced in tractor operation, loading, and unloading vats and trailers.
- A desire to learn and become multi-skilled is highly valued.
