About our Client
Our client is an Australian consumer goods business and a major supplier to our national grocery and eCommerce retailers. They are based in the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne and have a fantastic opportunity available for an experienced supply chain professional to head up their site-based logistics function in the capacity of Logistics Operations Manager.
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain and leading a team of two direct reports plus indirect reports, the Logistics Operations Manager is responsible for managing site-based warehousing and inbound/outbound transport performance, through a range of 3PL partners, to optimise customer service levels and reduce costs. Specific responsibilities include:
- Leading a small warehousing team responsible for receipting of goods, storage, pick & pack, and loading in a safety-first environment.
- Managing the performance of 3rd party transport partners by recommending optimal transport modes, routes, and equipment.
- Partnering with the supply chain planning team to optimise stock movements and holdings across a multi-site distribution network.
- Leading and participating in cross-functional strategic supply chain projects and initiatives.
Skills & Experience
- Functional warehousing and transport leadership experience, ideally in a consumer goods manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading a logistics or supply chain function servicing major grocery retailers and/or eCommerce platforms.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and improving the performance of 3PL partners.
- Proven people leadership experience within warehousing, transport, and inventory management functions.
