About The Opportunity

Are you looking to kickstart your career in Local Government in Cowra and obtain a qualification whilst receiving on the job training? Then a traineeship with Cowra Council may be the opportunity for you We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Finance team as a Trainee - Customer Service Officer. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience while completing a nationally recognised qualification - Certificate III in Business (Customer Engagement).

The Trainee - Customer Service Officer is part of a small team who are the face of our organisation, the successful applicant will be passionate about delivering positive face to face customer service experiences and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. This position is responsible for processing front counter and over the phone customer transactions and enquiries using a variety of computer systems as well as liaising across all departments to refer customer services enquiries onto the relevant personnel.

Requirements
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to follow direction and procedures, while showing initiative.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer literacy skills with high levels of data entry accuracy and speed.
  • High resilience level and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Previous experience in processing of credit card payments and cash handling experience (preferred).
