In this Role

You'll become a Road Safety Hero held in high esteem in our communities, vital to the safety of our kids, parents, teachers, and local motorists. You'll grow to be a familiar face around the school with a unique opportunity to touch the lives of countless families.

School Crossing details: Chittaway Bay Public School shifts fall between the school zone hours of 8:10 – 9:10AM and 2:30 – 3:30PM, Monday to Friday, with 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon. School Crossings require 20 hours of supervising per fortnight.

You will receive an hourly rate along with superannuation, and you will also be compensated during school holidays from Terms 1 to 3.

About You

You're a community minded person who would like to contribute. You'd get a kick out of making community relationships, keeping kids safe whilst earning a weekly wage for doing something you love and enjoy. You're reliable and prepared to show up for your community - in good or bad weather. You'll display effective communication skills and be alert to potential dangers.

Applicants must be 18 years of age at the time of appointment. All training, uniforms and equipment will be provided. You will need to obtain a Working with Children Check, Reference Checks, Police Check, and a Health Assessment. If you already have a Working with Children Check, that will speed up the process. We will assist through the process.

Recruitment Timeline

To ensure a smooth and efficient hiring process, here's an overview of the timeline for this recruitment:

  • Our talent team will review all applications and contact shortlisted candidates by week commencing 15th September 2025 for a quick 5-10 minute phone interview, followed by panel interviews.
  • If successful, you will progress to pre-employment checks.
  • Applications close 11:59pm on Wednesday 10th September 2025.
  • Applicants who pass the interview may be considered for a casual position should a vacancy arise.
  • A Talent Pool may be created for current and future casual and permanent part-time positions over the next 18-month period. If you are deemed suitable at interview, you may be contacted to complete pre-employment checks.
