Belmont Christian College invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the part-time position of Administrative Assistant in Learning Support, working 4 days per week, to build our talent pool.
The Administrative Assistant Learning Support is a vital role responsible for providing administrative and documentation support, collaborating with the Student Learning and Support team, teachers, students, and parents to foster an inclusive environment that enhances learning support services, under the guidance of the Head of Student Learning and Support.

Overview of the role:
- Provide administrative support to the Learning Support Team.
- Manage documentation and records of Student Learning Support.
- Serve as a reliable point of contact for communication and liaison within the department.
- Support departmental collaboration and programs.
- Manage resources and inventory of educational materials and equipment for Learning Support.

Detailed Job Description:
The Administrative Assistant supports the Student Learning and Support team by working closely with the Head of Student Learning and Support to manage daily operations and administrative tasks, ensuring smooth functioning of the team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Adhere to all College policies and procedures.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of students in the learning support team.
- Undertake ongoing training and professional development.
- Support staff in all school processes and procedures.
- Implement emergency plans as per College procedures.
- Complete work in a timely and compliant manner.
Key Accountabilities:
Christian Leadership:
- Exemplify a Christ-like example in the College.
- Exercise Christian servant leadership with staff, students, parents, and the community.
- Perform duties prayerfully and in accordance with Biblical principles to bring glory to God.
Support and Administrative Tasks:
- Work closely with the Head of Student Learning and Support to support learning programs and documentation.
- Manage the department's calendar, schedule meetings, and support sessions.
- Prepare and distribute communications and reports related to Student Learning and Support.
- Ensure smooth operation of learning support services and identify any gaps or delays.
Record Management:
- Maintain accurate, confidential student records, including progress reports and assessments.
- Ensure compliance with policies and legislation.
- Update Individual Plans of students regularly.
Communication and Liaison:
- Act as a reliable contact point for inquiries from staff, parents, and external agencies.
- Facilitate effective communication within the department and with external stakeholders.
Program Support and Resource Management:
- Assist in organizing support programs, workshops, and events.
- Manage inventory and procurement of educational resources.
Compliance and Professional Development:
- Stay informed about policies, procedures, and legislation related to student support.
- Participate in professional development to enhance role-specific skills.
Key Communications:
Internal:
- Receive guidance from the Head of Student Learning and Support.
- Collaborate with teachers and the Student Learning and Support team.
External:
- Engage with healthcare professionals, parents, resource providers, and regulators.
Challenges:
- Maintain consistency in caring for students' learning needs and administrative tasks.
- Support teachers and ensure effective learning experiences across primary and secondary levels.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Personal relationship with Jesus Christ, active church involvement, and support for College values as per the College Statement of Faith, Staff Pledge, and Codes of Conduct.
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Certificate IV in Business Administration or related field.
- Experience in an administrative role within an educational setting is advantageous.
- Competencies in organizational, record management, communication, program coordination, and resource management.

- Commitment to child safety and current Working with Children Check.
- Qualifications and experience as outlined above.
