About The Role

With our continued growth, we're looking for a Market Risk Manager to join our dynamic team in Sydney. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in managing market risk across the company and ensuring the stability and success of our trading operations.

We operate a hybrid model, with 1 day WFH per week.

Your Mission at Life Trading

As the Market Risk Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing market-related risks to safeguard the company's financial stability. You'll work closely with the Trading, Technology, and Operations teams to ensure a strong risk management framework and culture is in place. From monitoring market conditions to ensuring regulatory compliance, you will play an instrumental role in driving the risk management strategy of the company.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong understanding of derivative markets, including options
  • Proficiency with risk management tools and quantitative analysis
  • Ability to assess financial impacts of market fluctuations and provide actionable recommendations
  • Experience in developing and implementing risk frameworks to support consistent risk appetite across the company
  • A finance relevant degree with proven experience in market risk management (ideally including trading experience)

Bonus Points For

  • Effective communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of algorithmic risk management
  • 3+ years of experience building trading models
  • A willingness to challenge the status quo and ask the hard questions
