Pay rate : $38-45 per hour + super

Start Date : Monday 1st September

End Date : Wednesday 31st December

Location : Leichhardt

About your new role

The role involves providing initial assessment of claims and gathering relevant information for liability assessment by senior staff or external claims handlers. This position does not involve workers compensation responsibilities. It focuses on Motor Vehicle (excluding CTP) and Public Liability insurance claims. The role is a short-term cover to support leave periods and during the recruitment process for a permanent position.

What you will need

  • Maintain efficient processing of insurance claims according to governance standards.
  • Provide reports and assessments on insurance management.
  • Advise staff and third parties on insurance claims and policies.
  • Assist in developing and managing the Council's insurance policy framework, including public liability, professional indemnity, and motor vehicles.
  • Maintain accurate business records related to insurance claims in claims databases.

Essential Criteria

  • High-level understanding of risk management principles.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in insurance claims management, business, or related fields.
  • Strong written communication skills, including report writing and data briefing.
  • Ability to work productively and flexibly within a team.
