Accounts Payable Manager (Continuous Process Improvement Lead)

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead and develop our Perth-based Accounts Payable team through ongoing business optimization and efficiency initiatives.

The role involves overseeing the daily operations of our Accounts Payable function, managing stakeholder relationships, driving continuous process improvements, supporting team development, and contributing to systems integration projects.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including procurement, operations, IT, and finance to ensure operational efficiency, system optimization, and compliance within a dynamic, multi-entity environment.

Role responsibilities:

  1. Manage and oversee the Accounts Payable team.
  2. Ensure high service levels and foster a customer service culture within Accounts Payable, acting as the key escalation point.
  3. Oversee Converga, our paperless Accounts Payable system.
  4. Manage business expense systems, including SAP Concur and the auditing tool Appzen.
  5. Maintain accurate supplier data, including onboarding, variations, terminations, rebates, payment terms, and cost center management.
  6. Manage Supply Chain Finance platforms with banks and suppliers.
  7. Prepare management reports and track Accounts Payable metrics.
  8. Uphold key performance metrics and facilitate system and workflow efficiencies.
  9. Lead system integration and process improvement initiatives.
  10. Support the transition of Accounts Payable operations from offshore to onshore.
  11. Enhance financial controls, policies, and processes.

  • Build strong relationships with team members to promote operational excellence.
  • Develop productive stakeholder relationships, providing analysis and challenge as needed.
  • Support the business in meeting stakeholder needs.
  • Operate in accordance with Compass values and actively contribute to the company culture.

Experience, Qualifications, and Competency Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in supervisory or managerial roles leading an Accounts Payable team.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and influencing skills.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and meeting deadlines.
  • Proactive, autonomous, and accountable approach.
  • Team-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Experience with system enhancements, integrations, and process redesign.
  • Project and change management skills with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Preferred experience with Converga, Oracle, and SAP Concur.
  • Advanced skills in PowerPoint and Excel.
