Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist - Corporate @ Uniting | Driving Talent Acquisition StrategiesFirst Nations Social Justice Advocate (Identified Role)
Full-time | Permanent | Sydney CBD (Hybrid working)
At Uniting, we don't just talk about justice — we act on it. We believe the world can and must be more fair, inclusive and sustainable, and we campaign fearlessly to make that happen.
We are seeking a passionate First Nations Social Justice Advocate to help lead transformative campaigns that centre First Nations voices, challenge entrenched disadvantage and drive systemic change.
Our Campaigns
We walk alongside communities, stand with First Nations people, and raise our voices on the big issues of our time:
- First Nations justice – truth, treaty, voice and self-determination
- Fair Treatment – calling for drug laws that heal, not punish
- Climate change – mobilising communities and amplifying justice for those most impacted
- Reducing entry into out-of-home care – shifting power to communities and creating culturally safe, relationally led systems
About the Role
As our First Nations Social Justice Advocate, you will help drive Uniting's advocacy agenda. You'll shape and implement powerful campaigns as part of Uniting's Advocacy Team, while being embedded in the First Nations Strategy and Outcomes Team for cultural guidance and alignment with the First Nations People and Place Strategy.
Your work will include:
- Driving campaigns, including those with a First Nations focus
- Growing networks of supporters and allies
- Mobilising community into action
- Using social media, events and storytelling to build momentum
- Training and supporting others to take action
- Ensuring First Nations voices and priorities are always front and centre
About You
This is an Identified Role for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
You are a proud Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person who brings:
- Experience working with mob and community
- Strong cultural knowledge and connection
- A passion for creating change through campaigns, community organising or advocacy
- Strong communication skills — from yarning with community to writing posts and sharing stories
- Confidence to engage with a wide range of people — from community to church to politicians
- A willingness to learn, grow and work as part of a collaborative team
Why Uniting?
Because here, you will make a real difference.
At Uniting, you will:
- Be part of powerful campaigns that fight for justice
- Have a platform to bring First Nations perspectives into strategy and practice
- Work with a supportive team that values culture, community and lived experience
- Help drive systemic change for a fairer, more compassionate society
If you're ready to step into a role where you can make change where it counts most — for justice, for community, for generations to come — we'd love to hear from you.
