As a Deli Team Member you'll provide attentive service to deli customers,fulfilling their requests for fresh meat, poultry and fish; cold meats and smallgoods; salads and antipasto; ready to eat meals and pastries. You'll keep displays fresh, beautiful and full, make product recommendations and offer tasters.

This role is initially part-time, with the opportunity to become full-time a little later.Previous experience working in a deli is desirable, but not essential.

You will need:

  • A friendly attitude and good communication skills, to provide the attentive customer service Hill Street is known for.
  • To be comfortable handlingmeat andseafood (both cooked and uncooked)
  • A love of working with people (both colleaguesand customers)
  • Energy, initiative and willingnessto take direction.
  • The ability to follow company procedures and regulations, particularly regarding food handling and workplace health and safety.
  • Ongoing daytime availability on at least 3-4 days per week and every second weekend. Your standard roster will be agreed based on your availability and our operational requirements, with flexibility to suit your needs.
  • Physical fitness for lifting and standing.

Pay rates are set by the General Retail Industry Award. The 2024-25 base hourly pay rates for level 1 adults are:

Full time & part time

  • Weekdays $25.65
  • Saturday $32.06
  • Sunday $38.48

Casual

  • Weekdays $32.06
  • Saturday $38.48
  • Sunday $44.89

Additional penalty rates apply to public holidays and some overtime and early morning shifts.
