Brisbane, Queensland, Australia at Full time

About the Company

Our client is an iconic government-owned organisation that provides safe, efficient and environmentally responsible services to the aviation industry. They are a one-of-a-kind entity in Australia, managing over four million aircraft movements each year and delivering air navigation services across 11% of the world's airspace. Their operations span air traffic control towers, aviation firefighting, and critical support functions. This makes it an incredibly exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of aviation in Australia.

Right now, the organisation is undergoing an exciting transformation. They are shifting to a new operating model and reshaping their shared services capability. As part of this change, they are building their Employee Support team. This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to step into a pivotal advisory position during a time of real organisational growth and change.

Please note this is a 6-month fixed term contract role with the potential to go permanent.

About the Role

You will be a senior HR practitioner within the Employee Support team. You will act as a trusted coach, case manager and strategic sounding board for leaders across a highly complex, unionised and regulated environment.

You will take the lead on high-risk and sensitive employee relations cases, provide leadership coaching and help shape how HR supports a diverse and geographically dispersed workforce.

You will work across a national workforce including air traffic control, aviation rescue firefighting, and corporate services. Your remit will involve triaging, guiding and resolving high-level people matters while strengthening the ability of line leaders to manage performance, conduct, grievance and absence issues effectively.

You will:

  • Coach and advise operational and corporate leaders on proactive people management
  • Manage complex HR matters including grievances, investigations and misconduct
  • Act as the escalation point for complex HR queries across the employee lifecycle
  • Review and analyse workforce data to identify trends and recommend solutions
  • Promote and embed frameworks around talent, diversity and organisational change
  • Build strong relationships with line managers and uplift leadership capability
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement as HR transforms its service model

About You

You will bring:

  • Strong HR advisory and case management experience within large, complex or unionised environments
  • Solid knowledge of enterprise agreements, employment legislation and public sector HR frameworks
  • A demonstrated ability to coach and influence senior line leaders through complex scenarios
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
  • Experience gained in large-scale organisations such as transport, aviation, infrastructure, health, mining or utilities
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in HR, Business or related fields (desirable)

The Benefits

  • Make a real impact in a purpose-driven organisation where no two days are the same
  • Be part of a transformation project focused on improving HR service delivery
  • Gain national exposure across frontline and corporate functions
  • Join a collaborative and experienced HR team with deep organisational knowledge
  • Enjoy flexible working arrangements with 3 days in office and parking on site
  • Work with a supportive and progressive leader who values your input and development

Please note this is a 6-month fixed term contract role with the potential to go permanent.

Please apply with your current resume in Microsoft Word format only (.doc or .docx). For a confidential discussion, please contact William Stock on quoting reference JN
