As an experienced underground mining engineer, have you wanted to be part of the bigger picture by gaining exposure to critical mining drivers such as ventilation and strategic mine planning? Ideally, the right person for this position is someone who has cut their teeth in one or many of the big mining houses and is now ready to not just be a number and be valued for their skills and experiences. We are looking for someone who is aiming for a pathway to a Principal level role – we will support you in achieving this by challenging you and working on a development plan to ensure your success.

Our service delivery includes mine advisory, feasibility and mine optimisation studies, engineering and asset management, project services, safety, health & risk, and decarbonisation.

Due to continued growth in our Mine Optimisation and Advisory team, we are searching for a Senior Mine Planning Engineer. This role can be based from our Newcastle, Brisbane or Wollongong office. You will work as a key part of an integrated team with other like-minded individuals focused on being the best mining professionals in the industry. You will be challenged with a range of complex projects that require unique solutions to add value to our clients' operations.

You will have a strong understanding of underground mine planning, mine design, and mine scheduling, which you will use to lead the successful execution of projects for our valued clients. You will have a minimum of 3-5 years operational experience in underground coal mines, along with short, medium, and long-term mine planning and studies (i.e., Concept, Pre-feasibility, and Feasibility). Understanding the importance of managing client relationships and expectations is essential. From your experience, you will have a strong professional network. You will stand out if you have knowledge of study management, financial evaluations, and trade-off studies.

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering (BE Mining)
• Additional qualifications in finance or business would be highly regarded
• Proficient in the use of mine planning software (Deswik, XPAC, Minex)
