Job Description

We're seeking a strategic and experienced Vegetation Strategy Manager to join our Asset and Digital division. In this pivotal role, you'll lead the long-term strategic direction for vegetation management across Essential Energy's network, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder expectations.

This role has a preferred location of Port Macquarie, however anywhere within the operational footprint will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Essential Energy's Vegetation Strategy, including the Vegetation Management Plan and Compliance Demonstration Document
  • Provide expert advice on risk, performance, and cost factors in vegetation management
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and demonstrate adherence across the business
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to influence outcomes
  • Align vegetation strategy with key Asset Management System artefacts
  • Represent Essential Energy in industry forums and influence legislation
  • Champion asset management maturity and cultural growth across the business
  • Promote diversity, inclusion, and ethical standards in line with company values

About You

You're a subject matter expert in vegetation or asset management with a strong strategic mindset. You thrive in complex regulatory environments and are passionate about driving long-term value and sustainability.

Required

Qualifications & Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management or related discipline, or equivalent experience

Experience
  • Experience in vegetation, asset, or regulatory management—preferably in the electricity distribution industry
  • Proven leadership in strategic planning and change management
  • Strong understanding of commercial and risk management principles
  • Working knowledge of ISO 55001 and asset management practices
  • Excellent knowledge of WHS, IPART, AER, Electricity Act, and other relevant legislation

Skills
  • Strategic thinking and data-driven decision-making
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Excellent communication and reporting capabilities
  • Proficiency in business systems and software tools
