The Role

Macquarie University Health is currently recruiting for a Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) to join the team on a 1-year fixed term full time basis within the Endoscopy unit. You will play a vital role in enhancing the clinical capabilities of nursing staff within the unit. This will be achieved by designing and executing quality education and training programs that focus on patient care and supporting nurses whilst they undertake these programs. This includes facilitating clinical skill development, simulation-based training, and continuing professional development sessions.

In this role, you will also work closely with gastroenterologists, anesthetists, infection control teams, and sterile processing departments to support cohesive, safe, and effective care delivery. The role encompasses on-floor teaching, coaching, and formal instruction. Therefore, a genuine passion for teaching and knowledge-sharing is essential. The successful candidate will utilise a variety of innovative methods to engage and effectively educate staff.

To Apply

To be considered for this position, you will demonstrate the below requirements in your CV and a 1–2-page cover letter addressing the essential criteria:

• Experience working as a Clinical Nurse Educator, Clinical Nurse Specialist or Acting Clinical Nurse Educator with a minimum of 4 years post graduate experience in Endoscopy
• Proven ability to prioritise work and delegate tasks
• Demonstrated experience in preceptorship and mentoring of staff
• Proven ability to adapt to changing circumstances
• Strong skills in computer literacy
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, especially in patient service setting
• Evidence of continual professional development (i.e. courses commensurate in related fields)
• Post-graduate qualifications in education, clinical care, or recovery.
• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or working towards the same

Role Specific Conditions

• Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) for NSW (Please provide your WWCC number in your application)
• Registered Nurse/Enrolled Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• MQ Health Immunisation screening
• Criminal History Check
