Job Description

Ability Action Australia is seeking Behaviour Support Practitioners who hold current suitability as confirmed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

Successful candidates will provide support to NDIS participants living in the Bayside or Eight Mile Plains suburbs and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting NDIS participants, their families, and carers to identify needs through assessment and person-centered planning
  • Developing and delivering evidence-based support plans within complex support environments
  • Creating meaningful goals and strategies using a positive behaviour support framework, with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices, both in home and community settings
  • Ensuring support plans align with participants' goals, passions, and strengths to enhance their quality of life
  • Building capacity and resilience among supporters such as family, carers, and friends
  • Acting as an advocate and role model for best practices
  • Collaborating within a multidisciplinary team
Qualifications

To be considered suitable, you will have:

  • Current suitability status confirmed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission
  • A degree-level qualification as an allied health professional
  • Experience working with Challenging Behaviours
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to handle a varied caseload
  • A proactive attitude motivated by improvement and innovation
  • A genuine passion for working in the disability sector
