Job description
The Early Intervention Psychosocial Support Response (EIPSR) program is a joint partnership between Eastern Health and EACH, providing both clinical and psychosocial supports to Mental Health Consumers. It adopts a holistic, strength-based approach to help Consumers identify their individual recovery needs.
- Full-time opportunity available
- 14-month maternity leave contract starting mid-August (negotiable earlier start possible)
- Based in Boronia - Outreach position
- Salary: $44 - $48.99 per hour + 12% Super + generous salary packaging benefits up to $18,550
Job Description
As a Support Worker, you will manage a caseload of clients, assisting them to resolve or reduce barriers to stable self-care through low to high-intensity community supports, aiming for positive therapeutic outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver psychosocial support to clients (aged 16-65) to achieve recovery goals.
- Enhance clients' capacity for self-management of their mental health, and empower them to make informed decisions about their support needs.
- Improve coping skills, reduce self-harming behaviors, and develop skills and confidence for daily activities.
- Strengthen social and relationship skills, and expand family and social networks.
- Support clients to access educational, vocational, and employment opportunities.
- Promote healthy lifestyles and reduce harmful behaviors.
Note: This role does NOT involve working within the NDIS, although some clients may explore NDIS options.

Who we're looking for
We seek a flexible thinker with extensive experience and demonstrated skills in Mental Health and the Social Model of Health to join our multidisciplinary team.
Requirements:
- Experience as a mental health case worker.
- Bachelor qualification in Mental Health / Community Health or equivalent.
- Understanding of mental health interventions for clients with complex needs.
- Awareness of vulnerabilities faced by individuals with psychosocial disabilities.
- Ability to collaborate with case managers, team coordinators, clients, carers, family, and peer workers to develop and review recovery plans.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships within the team and with external stakeholders.
A current Australian Driver's Licence is also required.
