About The RoleAs a Mental Health Care Navigator at Medicare Mental Health Kids Hub, you'll play a core role in initiating the delivery of high-quality clinical services to children (0-12 years) experiencing mild to moderate mental health and well-being challenges. You'll take a child centred approach but will extend your scope to focus on the families and carers of our clients to contribute a truly wholistic health service in our community.
You'll be the first point of contact with our clients, using assessment and flexible problem-solving skills to determine needs and shape responses. You'll engage and support children and families within the Hub and guide their support with other service providers.
You'll work closely with a range of internal and external care providers and partner organisations across health, education, social services, Aboriginal health, and disability sectors to ensure continuity of care and increase access to support options for children in our community, making full use of communication and advocacy skills.
You'll practice within a multidisciplinary team including allied health, nursing and medical staff, reflecting the Hub-based nature of the service, which will add to the scope of support you'll receive and provide.
This is a core position within the service and the team with access to ongoing support, mentoring, and opportunities for professional development.
This is a temporarily funded position until 30 June 2026 with the possibility of extension subject to funding.
