The OpportunityWe are seeking a motivated Procurement Assistant to join our Central Contracting Team.

As a Procurement Assistant at the Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure, you'll play a vital role in supporting the Central Contracting Team by delivering timely and accurate procurement and administrative services. Your responsibilities will include maintaining contract records, coordinating tender documentation, liaising with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with procurement processes. You'll be part of a team that contributes to the efficient delivery of services that keep Western Australia moving.
There is currently one (1) permanent full-time position available for immediate filling.
The successful applicant(s) assessed as suitable through this process may receive further offers of employment (fixed term or permanent) in this or similar roles for a period of twelve (12) months from date of first appointment.
About youThe ideal candidate will possess :
- A foundational understanding of the public sector supply environment and procurement processes.
- Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with a range of stakeholders.
- Clear and effective written communication skills, especially in preparing procurement and technical documentation.
- Sound analytical and research abilities, with a proactive approach to solving problems.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
- A collaborative mindset and a commitment to contributing positively to team goals and departmental values.
