Job Title: Procurement Strategist
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled procurement strategist to join our team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality strategic procurement advice to business units.
The role is ideal for someone who can develop contract briefs, manage external contractors, and provide strategic advice to key stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have experience in ICT procurement, government sector procurement or contracts, and be able to demonstrate a high level of procurement knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Contract Briefs: Develop contract briefs and consultancy contracts that meet the needs of the business.
- Manage External Contractors: Manage external contractors through the procurement process, ensuring compliance with organisational policies and procedures.
- Prepare Procurement Documentation: Prepare procurement documentation within the organisation's policies, strategy and procedures.
- Provide Strategic Advice: Provide strategic advice to key stakeholders on procurement matters.
- Conduct Efficient Procurement: Conduct efficient, pragmatic procurement methods and processes within a government context.
- Evaluate and Improve: Evaluate procurement activities and improve existing practices through mentoring, supporting and sharing knowledge and experience with others.
- Monitor Emerging Trends: Monitor and understand emerging trends in procurement activities and issues, considering how these might be applied to improve existing organisational practices.
- Lead and Assist: Lead and assist with the development and delivery of procurement projects and key initiatives.
- Maintain Knowledge: Maintain and share knowledge of government procurement practices and principles, undertaking improvement of procurement & supply outcomes for the organisation.
- Advise and Recommend: Provide advice and recommend the most appropriate procurement method.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high degree of procurement knowledge and expertise.
- Experience in ICT procurement, government sector procurement or contracts.
- The ability to develop contract briefs, manage external contractors and provide strategic advice to key stakeholders.
- The ability to evaluate and improve existing procurement practices.
- The ability to monitor emerging trends in procurement activities and issues.
