Tree Worker / Plant Operator

  • Salary: $70,158.40 - $81,383.12 p/a + super
  • Permanent full-time role – 38 hours per week - 9 day fortnight

About the role

Are you passionate about trees and the environment? Do you have a knack for operating heavy machinery?

Council is looking for a dedicated Tree Worker / Plant Operator to join our team and make a positive impact on the local community

Reporting to the Streetscape Supervisor, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Maintain and care for the urban tree population through pruning, planting, and removal
  2. Safely operate and maintain plant machinery including trucks, chippers, and stump grinders
  3. Assist with landscaping and grounds maintenance projects across various locations
  4. Work alongside a skilled team to ensure safety and efficiency in all tasks
  5. Provide excellent customer service when interacting with the public and responding to service requests

Required experience & skills

  1. Certificate III in Arboriculture or a willingness to undertake training to obtain
  2. Experience in tree care, horticulture, or arboriculture
  3. Background in operating plant machinery and equipment
  4. Knowledge of safe work practices and ability to follow safety procedures
  5. First Aid, Traffic Control, Level 1 Chainsaw Operation certificates and MR licence – or a willingness to undertake training to obtain
