Dugald River mine is one of the world's top 10 Zinc mine operations, producing zinc concentrate for customers around the world since 2017. The mine is committed to a low-carbon future. In April 2023 the Dugald River Solar Farm began operations, supplying a third of the mine's power and reducing emissions by 33% as part of its renewable energy transition. Dugald River employs around 750 people including contractors on a mix of fly-in/fly-out and local residential arrangements.

Drill & Blast Engineer: Reporting directly to the Senior Mine Production Engineer, the key responsibility is to complete drill and blast design, QA/QC, reconciliations and provide general mining engineering support to the Mining team. This role will be based on an 8/6 roster, with drive in drive out (DIDO) from Cloncurry or Mount Isa or fly in fly out (FIFO) from Townsville or Brisbane.

To be successful in this role, you will be a strong performer with the ability to lead through positive actions. You will have excellent stakeholder engagement skills at all levels and solid underground mining experience with a practical understanding of underground drainage, power, air, water, ventilation and backfill techniques.

• Minimum of 2 years underground metalliferous mining experience
• Technical experience, especially in mine scheduling and planning, will be well regarded
• Practical underground experience will be well regarded
• Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering (Essential)
• Queensland Explosives Security Clearance (QESC) (Essential)
• Manual Drivers license
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of Deswik solutions
