Water Corporation is seeking an Aboriginal Communications Specialist for a 12-month fixed-term opportunity based in Leederville, with a salary of $135,693 plus 12% super. You will work with a supportive and caring team to deliver internal and external communications and provide strategic advice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communications. About the RoleWe have a fixed term opportunity for an Aboriginal Communications Specialist to join our close-knit team. In this role you will deliver internal and external communications and provide strategic advice and support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communications. You will be responsible for supporting a number of Water Corporation's programs and initiatives, including the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and Yesterday Today, and Tomorrow (YTT) strategy. Responsibilities include internal stakeholder engagement and consultation, to develop, craft and implement successful strategic and tactical communication and engagement plans.
Responsibilities- Deliver internal and external communications and provide strategic advice and support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communications, including supporting Water Corporation's programs and initiatives such as the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and the Yesterday Today, and Tomorrow (YTT) strategy.
- Engage with internal stakeholders and consult to develop, craft and implement successful strategic and tactical communication and engagement plans.
- Work with the broader Corporate Affairs team and other subject matter experts across the business to ensure communications are coordinated, aligned and consistent.
- Establish measures of success for communications and report on activities.
- Develop and implement Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communications frameworks, including guidelines, presentations and supporting documents.

Qualifications- This position relates to Section 50 (d) of the West Australian Equal Opportunity Act 1984, where Aboriginality is considered a genuine occupational qualification for this position
- Degree qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Media Management or a related discipline
- Considerable experience in Aboriginal employee engagement, stakeholder and issues management
- Considerable experience in drafting strategic communication and engagement plans, including tactical communication plans and key messages
- Substantial experience in delivering communication programs and providing advice and support at a corporate level in a large service-based organisation
- Substantial experience in developing proactive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of past policies and legislations impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
