
Vice President – Mergers

The Vice President of M&A and Strategic Initiatives will lead the development and execution of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and high-impact strategic projects to drive growth and operational excellence in a fast-paced logistics and warehousing environment. This role is pivotal to identifying synergies, expanding geographic presence, and enhancing service capabilities through inorganic and transformational initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify, evaluate, and execute strategic M&A opportunities that align with company objectives in warehousing, transportation, and supply chain services.
Lead due diligence efforts, including financial, operational, legal, and commercial assessments with a focus on logistics networks, facility assets, and distribution capabilities.
Develop robust financial models, synergy projections, and ROI analyses to support business cases.
Drive negotiations, transaction structuring, and deal execution in coordination with legal, tax, and finance teams.
Partner with third-party advisors (investment banks, consultants, legal counsel) to support deal sourcing and execution.
Strategic Initiatives & Business Transformation
Lead cross-functional strategic initiatives such as network optimization, automation integration, e-commerce enablement, last-mile delivery expansion, or technology adoption.
Support the executive team in strategic planning, business development, and operational excellence initiatives.
Evaluate partnerships, strategic alliances, or joint ventures to enter new markets or service segments (e.g., cold chain, reverse logistics).
Deliver actionable insights from industry trends, customer demands, and supply chain innovation to inform long-term strategy.
Integration & Value Capture
Oversee integration of acquired companies, ensuring seamless transition across warehousing, transportation, IT systems, HR, and customer relationships.
Establish integration playbooks and KPIs to track progress and realize deal synergies in cost, capacity, and service performance.
Monitor and report on post-deal performance and value realization to the executive team and Board.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred.
10+ years of relevant experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or management consulting with a focus on M&A.
Proven track record of leading successful M&A transactions and strategic initiatives.
Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and executive presentation abilities.
Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and operational understanding.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
