
Principal Workplace Relations Advisor, Queensland Health

About the role
This role will be expected to represent MNH as an industrial advocate within a variety of forums including the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission and the Queensland Human Rights Commission. The role will be responsible for developing detailed submissions, briefing, and working closely with the Manager Workplace Relations to recommend appropriate strategies for the successful and timely resolution of complex industrial matters.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Research and investigate various formal complaints such as Public Service Appeals, Dispute Notifications, Human Rights complaints, and Unfair Dismissals to identify risks and alternatives if required.
- Complete written submissions to various industrial forums, particularly Public Service Appeals in the QIRC.
- Prepare written briefings for senior management on complex industrial issues.
- Provide advocacy and resolution services on complex cases in various forums, especially conciliation conferences in the QIRC.
- Research and provide complex advice on awards, industrial instruments, and entitlements.
- Offer strategic, tactical, and operational advice and support to all client groups in the Health Service on workforce matters.
