The role
As our Principal Health and Safety Advisor (Governance), you will provide strategic advice and analysis to executives and health, safety, and wellbeing professionals across our statewide hospitals and health services. Reporting to the Director of System Leadership and Advisory Services, you will play a crucial role in enhancing workplace health and safety, rehabilitation, and psychosocial wellbeing initiatives, with a strong focus on governance, consultation, and representation. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, including healthcare unions, you will develop and implement comprehensive health and safety management systems and programs. Your proactive approach will ensure compliance with legislation, while identifying and implementing innovative best practices to mitigate key WHS risks.
The successful person

**You will have demonstrated**:

- Relevant qualifications relating to health, safety and wellbeing, safety auditing, governance and risk management (Not mandatory but highly regarded)
- Understanding of health, safety, and wellbeing strategies, includng national and state policies, legislation, and trends, applied to develop and implement effective systems in large public sector organizations.
- Ability in developing, implementing, evaluating, and improving organization-wide health, safety, and wellbeing management systems in complex environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, adept at analyzing performance data and providing strategic advice for system enhancement.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, adept at establishing productive relationships and collaborating effectively with stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
