Established from the generosity shown after the 2019/20 Black Summer bushfires, the Fund complements support by other entities, including under Workers Compensation arrangements.
The Role This is the first employee of the RFSBF and reporting to the Chair, the Chief Operating Officer (and Company Secretary) is accountable to the Board for implementing the strategic plan, overseeing policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with federal and state legislative and regulatory requirements for charities and companies limited by guarantee.
This is a unique role where you will be responsible for standing up the systems and processes of the RFSBF where you will closely with key stakeholders to ensure success.
Key internal stakeholders include the Chair and Board, RFS members and the RFS Chaplaincy Service.
Key external relationships are the Office of the RFS Commissioner, the Minister's Office, government departments, emergency services agencies, sponsors/donors, auditors, suppliers/service providers and various external committees.
About You You will be energised by a start up role and the opportunity that the impactful work of the RFSBF provides.
Your experience will encompass: Tertiary qualification in a business-related discipline; proven experience as a COO or equivalent senior leader with experience in business improvement and systems development; High-level leadership, communication and stakeholder skills and success building high-performing teams.
Deep understanding of not-for-profit operations, governance, compliance and fundraising; Appreciation for volunteer-based community services; Current Driver's Licence; ability to travel; ability to obtain and maintain required probity checks.
Located at the RFS Office in Olympic Park, Sydney a hybrid work model is on offer.
