Reporting to the Software Engineering Manager, you will support the provisioning and maintenance of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) systems and solutions for Defence.
Your role will also include providing ICT support, troubleshooting customer issues related to the Software Support System, mobile devices, and equipment.
The candidate must be an Australian citizen and eligible for a security clearance.
About the role : Manage and configure network parameters and firewall settings for standalone devices such as laptops and mobile devices.
Provision mobile devices used for tactical operations.
Configure, install, and harden Standard Operating Environments (SOE).
Provide ICT services on-site and remotely, including occasional travel to customer sites.
Perform technical troubleshooting and Help Desk Support services, including application/hardware faults and network communication issues.
Support software by installing patches and firmware updates.
Create and update relevant ICT standard operating procedures.
Facilitate training on software support systems for internal and external customers.
Report and investigate security breaches and incidents, engaging with authorities when necessary.
Model company values, leadership behaviors, and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, the Code of Conduct, Ethics, and governance requirements.
Essential skills : Knowledge of Windows, Linux, Android operating systems, Virtual Machines, network servers, security hardening/management, firewalls, and scripting for process automation.
Experience in ICT administration.
Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools.
Knowledge of security certificate management and generation.
Experience in developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proven problem-solving abilities.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to work independently and in teams.
Ability to guide others on systems, applications, networks, and hardware.
Degree in engineering, IT, computer science, or related field, or a relevant technical diploma.
