ICT Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced ICT engineer to join our team. This is a key client-facing role responsible for leading projects of varying sizes from concept through to delivery.

The successful candidate will help shape innovative engineering solutions, mentor junior team members, and strengthen our presence in the ANZ region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the production of ICT infrastructure design packages, including written report documents, drawings, schematics, schedules, technical specifications, and procurement packs.
  • Meet quality and technical excellence standards, while delivering projects on time.
  • Develop 2D CAD design drawings and 3D Revit models, working closely with BIM team colleagues.
  • Represent RED at technical meetings, customer meetings, and contractor teams.
  • Ensure that specifications, drawings, and calculations meet project requirements, industry standards, and legal regulations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Degree in Engineering, with at least 2 years' experience in ICT infrastructure design engineering.
  • Data cabling manufacture/contracting; IT/IP network systems integration; network technology vendor/manufacturer.
  • Experience in ICT infrastructure design for data centre construction or commercial building construction.
  • Technical qualifications in Structured Cabling Systems, Fibre Optic Networks, Data Cabling containment systems, IP/Ethernet Data Network (LAN/WAN), Wireless Data Network (WiFi), In-building Distributed Antenna System (DAS), Outside Plant (OSP), Telecommunication Network Infrastructure and Services.
  • Industry qualifications such as Cisco CCNA, CNet training, BICSI, Uptime Institute.
  • Appreciation of ICT implications related to MEP building services, network security engineering, and power supply and cooling systems.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Bluebeam; working knowledge of Revit desirable; Navisworks familiarity desirable.
