The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking an IT Coordinator to provide a critical role within the Western Plains Correctional Centre.
About the Business Unit Western Plains Correctional Centre is a modern, maximum-security prison focused on rehabilitation, housing up to 1248 people in custody.

About the Role This position sits within the Technology Services Team, supporting the prison and staff in areas such as Application Development & Support, Infrastructure Support, IT Asset Management, and Communications Devices Support.
The Information Technology Coordinator is responsible for supporting staff and people in our care in the use of technology, hardware, and applications, and assisting in implementation projects at Western Plains.
This role collaborates with the Prison's Operations Team and other stakeholders.
This position requires on-site work, with flexible hours including weekends and public holidays, and urgent work as needed.
Appropriate remuneration will be applied in accordance with the Victorian Public Service Determination.
Some of your duties will include: Providing technical advice and assistance to Western Plains staff Assisting in developing and managing local IT systems Acting as the Offender Services Network (OSN) administrator, including infrastructure upgrades, user/system requirements, and publishing information on OSNManaging the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the OSNConducting regular audits of computers and IT resources used by people in our care To learn more about this role before applying, please read the attached position description.
About you To be successful in this role, you will have: Practical knowledge of computer operations and experience supporting Microsoft operating systems, telecommunications equipment, and other ICT hardware Proven experience delivering high standards of service to internal customers Experience supporting Android and i OS mobile devices Experience in IT hardware lifecycle management Ability to re-prioritize and plan workload to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment High proficiency with Microsoft Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 365 Suite Aptitude and willingness to learn new technologies Qualifications / requirements Experience in programming languages, developing code, and implementing IT projects is advantageous How to Apply Please click the Apply button on this advertisement.
