The role As part of our Naval Combat Systems group, the Field Services Representative will be responsible for delivering waterfront services to support Saab combat system elements delivered to the Royal Australian Navy (RAN).
These activities include help desk, Urgent Defect (URDEF) investigations and other technical support.
This position provides a direct interface to ship crew and/or waterfront operations.
The role is also responsible for providing technical support to Saab products during build or upgrade activities such as First of Class (FOC) installations and testing.

The role is also responsible for providing technical support to Saab products during build or upgrade activities such as First of Class (FOC) installations and testing.
Further, the successful candidate will: Within the FSR team, assist with help desk and URDEF enquiries and responses including remote support where necessary.
Support the Field Services Technical Lead to work cohesively with internal Saab stakeholders such as System's Delivery, CSI-IPT and WAMA to determine complex technical solutions for designated projects.
Responsible to undertake FOC technical support activities such as installation and set to work procedures, commissioning activities including CAT 4/5, Harbour/Sea Acceptance Trials.
These activities often require integrated responsibilities working with associated support teams such as Maintenance, Systems Engineering and Integration.
Support the Maintenance team to deliver planned and corrective maintenance activities as required, particularly during concurrent support activities such as system groom and condition assessments.
Flexible work arrangements such as 9-day fortnight will be considered for this role.
About You Your education, skills and experience will include: AQF Level 3 – Certificate III in Engineering, Electrical or Electronic Trade AQF Level 3 – Front Line or Management Leadership, or similar Technical related industry experience for RAN assets.
Expertise in the planning and prioritization of maintenance activities and the execution of tasking; including Inspection Test Plans (ITP's), Job Safety Environmental Analysis Plans (JSEAP's), and Standard Activity (SA) tasking.
Experience with validation or authorization of technical documentation including test procedures, test reports and closing reports.
Knowledge of RAN combat system operational needs and performance Knowledge of subsystems such as radars, navigational aids, weapons/engagement and sensor integration Ability to undertake periodic travel interstate and/or overseas.
As a defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance preferably to NV1 level or have the ability to gain one.
Information including past and present nationality and citizenship may be requested to check eligibility for access to materials controlled under various export control regimes, including ITAR.
Pre-employment screening will include a medical assessment.
