KMD Brands is seeking a dynamic Legal Counsel to join our Group Legal team, providing pragmatic, business-focused legal advice across Australia and internationally.
About the Role Reporting to the Head of Legal , this role offers variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to work across multiple brands and jurisdictions.
You'll support contract negotiations, privacy compliance, intellectual property management, and broader legal initiatives, while mentoring paralegals and interns.
Key Responsibilities Review and negotiate commercial contracts (Saa S, sponsorship, MSA, IT leasing, marketing, services) Lead privacy assessments and embed privacy-by-design practices Support IP portfolio management and deliver trademark/copyright training Provide clear, tailored legal advice across consumer law, compliance, and marketing Collaborate with cross-functional teams across marketing, loyalty, product, sourcing and IT Mentor junior legal team members and coordinate intern engagement What You'll Bring 6–10 years PQE in private practice or in-house (or both) Strong experience in commercial contracts, privacy law, and IP Admission to practice in Victoria, Australia Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities Excellent communication, drafting, and stakeholder engagement skills Bonus: Experience in consumer law and brand protection Why Join Us?
