Profile:
We
are seeking a collaborative leader to join our service as
Clinical Research Manager and oversee the
operations of our Oncology and Haematology Clinical Research Unit
based at Perth Children's Hospital.
This
is an exciting time of growth and innovation within the department,
offering the opportunity to contribute to the expansion of our team
and growth of our world-class oncology research program.
You will
coordinate and deliver clinical trials, driving innovation and
clinical excellence, with the goal of improving survival and
outcomes for children and young people with cancer and blood
disorders.

Your
ability to engage with stakeholders from clinicians to
international trial sponsors will be essential in supporting
integrated, patient-centred care across complex oncology pathways
and specialty teams.
Key responsibilities
include

Provide operational
leadership for national and international clinical trials
across all phases.
Manage and mentor a
dedicated team of clinical research professionals, fostering a
collaborative and high-performing culture.
Oversee trial governance,
regulatory compliance, quality systems, and adherence to
protocol.
Manage clinical trial
budgets and resource planning.
Maintain compliance with
national and international research regulations and
standards.
Build and nurture strategic
partnerships with stakeholders and research networks including
the Children's Oncology Group (COG) and
ANZCHOG.
Play a central role in our
growing collaboration with the WA Comprehensive Kids Cancer
Centre, scaling early-phase and precision-based clinical
trials.
Work closely with nursing,
medical and allied health teams to embed research into clinical
practice.
Contribute to ongoing
quality improvement, policy development, and service evaluation
initiatives.

About our
Department
The
Department of Paediatric and Adolescent Oncology and Haematology at
Perth Children's Hospital provides statewide, comprehensive
care for children aged 0–16 and their families, addressing a
wide range of cancer and haematology conditions, including
malignant and non-malignant blood disorders.
Our
services are designed to meet the complex medical, psychological,
and emotional needs of young patients and their families through a
holistic, multidisciplinary approach.
This includes the diagnosis
and management of cancer and blood disorders, as well as pain
management, nutritional support, infection prevention, and
psychological support to help families cope with the challenges of
cancer and chronic illness.
We also provide education, follow-up,
and survivorship care.
We
work in close collaboration with other hospitals and participate in
clinical trials across national and international networks to
facilitate better outcomes for our young patients and allow
patients to access cutting-edge therapies locally.
