Are you ready to be part of a global leader in lifestyle headwear and apparel?New Era is looking for a detail-oriented Product Developer to join our Sports Business Unit in Melbourne.
This role is focused on the technical side of development — creating accurate tech packs, managing product data, and coordinating with international sourcing teams to deliver high-quality headwear and apparel.
Reporting to the Lead Designer & Developer – Headwear & Apparel, you'll play a key role in supporting the development process across multiple sporting leagues, both locally and internationally.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WILL INCLUDECreating and maintaining detailed tech packs in PLM for prototypes, salesman samples, and bulk production.
Reviewing digital and physical samples, making corrections in collaboration with sourcing teams.
Coordinating product approvals with teams and license holders, ensuring all designs meet strict league guidelines.
Managing product data across PLM and tracking systems, ensuring descriptions, colourways, materials, and delivery months are accurate and up to date.
Communicating daily with our Hong Kong sourcing team to resolve spec issues and maintain timelines.
Tracking progress against the Time & Action Calendar (TAC) and updating MONDAY boards to keep stakeholders aligned and deadlines met.
Supporting proto reviews, ranging sessions, and ensuring smooth handover to production teams.
ABOUT YOU1+ year of experience in product development and or production (headwear, apparel, accessories, or similar).
Knowledge of Australian and/or international sporting teams is a bonusSkilled in Adobe Illustrator.
Experience using PLM systems.
Technical knowledge of construction, fabrics, trims, and applications.
Accuracy and attention to detail when creating tech packs and managing data.
Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Proactive, organised, and solutions-focused communicator.
