About the role We are seeking Drill Operators for permanent opportunities at our QCoal Northern Hub Project situated in the Bowen Basin in Central Queensland, about 200 kilometres' northwest of Mackay and 6km south of Collinsville.
Working a 7 on and 7 off roster and adhering to Thiess' safety standards and operational procedures you will: Accurately check the quality and depth of drill holes and record ground conditions that may affect blasting; Maintain a clean and tidy Drill rig and report/address any maintenance faults; Demonstrate a positive attitude towards regular and reliable drill metres, rig utilisation and consumables usage; Provide neat and complete associated documentation for drill reports and pre-starts checks; Regularly use and active participation in safety assessments; and Be willing to be trained across a variety of drill rigs in the fleet and show an adaptable attitude.
About you Minimum 12 months drilling experience in the mining industry with verified machinery skills list (Signed Training Transcripts) Verified machinery skills list (Signed Training Transcripts) A proactive attitude with the desire to work reliably as part of a team Current Standard 11(or willingness to obtain) and current drivers licence A commitment to a positive safety culture Alignment to our principles: Integrity, Accountability, Innovation & Delivery Experience with rotary or top hammer drills- advantageous What Thiess can do for you Opportunity to earn $124,045 plus super + $10,000 Retention Payment (paid in 52 weekly payments) Attendance allowance - $250 per fortnight BIBO from Townsville Camp accommodation close to mine site - 10 minutes down the road Living out of camp or LAFH allowances available for Bowen or Collinsville areas (Local Living) Even time 7/7 day/night rotating roster - 12hr shifts A range of corporate discounts including health insurance, travel and retail product About us Thiess works with clients in Australia, Asia and the Americas in the dynamic field of open-cut and underground mining.
