About the role
The Family Violence Therapeutic Youth Worker position will provide 1:1 trauma-informed support to young people, ages 12-17 years old, who have experienced violence in the home and their families.
The role involves using a therapeutic lens to minimise their use of violence and foster healthy relationships.
About You
Demonstrated commitment and understanding of the values that underpin VACCA's vision and purpose
Awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and an understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal people in contemporary Australia, including the diversity of circumstances
An awareness of family violence issues and their impacts on women, children, and families
The ability to apply a flexible, non-judgmental, and empowering approach to service delivery
Requirements
A tertiary qualification in Social Work or a related discipline, or willingness to work towards an equivalent qualification
Knowledge of the Family Violence Protection Act 2008 and the MARAM framework, with a comprehensive understanding (Tier Level 1)
Hold a full Victorian Driver's Licence, a current Working With Children Check, and a clear National Police Check
