The Role We are seeking an experienced Associate or junior Senior Associate to join our busy Sydney competition and disputes practice.
You will work within a collegiate and supportive team environment, closely collaborating with senior practitioners.
Supervision will be provided by highly experienced practitioners across a broad spectrum of competition and consumer law matters, with opportunities for daily case management and career development.
Our legal services cover various industries, with key focus areas including competition and consumer law, such as advice, litigation (notably cartel cases), marketing and advertising clearance, consumer law litigation, regulatory investigations and prosecutions, general commercial litigation, and class actions.
We serve a diverse portfolio of global and domestic clients.
Who We Are Looking For Candidates should have 5 to 8 years PQE with demonstrable experience, including litigation experience.
Essential skills include: Delivering high-quality legal services appropriate to your experience level; Maintaining and fostering client relationships; Supporting Partners, Special Counsels, and team members to achieve group goals; Participating in professional development activities; Litigation skills such as briefing counsel, drafting court documents (pleadings, affidavits, applications), and liaising with opposing counsel, courts, and tribunals; Articulating complex technical arguments clearly; and Researching legal issues and providing concise advice to senior practitioners and clients.
You will also: Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; Manage workflow and deadlines independently in a busy environment; Be a proactive team player willing to assist during peak periods; Accept and incorporate feedback from senior team members; Contribute positively to office culture; and Seek guidance when needed.
