Competition Law Expert

M Montgomery Advisory is seeking a talented Associate to join their global competition law team in Sydney.

  • This opportunity will provide the chance to work alongside leading partners advising domestic and international clients on a broad spectrum of competition and regulatory matters.

About the Role:

  • Advising on merger clearances, joint ventures, and cross-border deals requires strong expertise in competition law.
  • Managing ACCC investigations and regulatory engagement necessitates excellent communication skills.
  • Handling competition and consumer law litigation and dispute resolution demands strategic thinking.
  • Working with major clients across technology, infrastructure, energy, healthcare, and financial services calls for adaptability and commercial awareness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide authoritative guidance on competition and regulatory law to clients.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies for complex competition and regulatory matters.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues through proactive communication.
  • Contribute to the development of new business opportunities by leveraging industry connections.

About You:

  • A strong interest in competition law and regulatory frameworks is essential.
  • Experience in competition, consumer, or regulatory law at a top-tier firm or regulator is highly valued.
  • Strong commercial awareness and legal research/drafting skills are required.
  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn how businesses operate are key qualities for success in this role.
