The Team

The Sydney Competition team is known for delivering clear, strategic, and commercially focused advice to major corporates and institutions. They work across the full spectrum of competition and consumer law matters, often in matters involving the ACCC, cross-border implications, or high-profile litigation.

The team operates with a flat structure, strong partner access, and a culture that values deep thinking, initiative, and hands-on involvement at all levels.

The Role

As Special Counsel, you'll play a key role across the firm's competition and consumer law matters. You will:

• Lead and manage large-scale investigations, merger reviews, and regulatory proceedings
• Work closely with partners, clients, and regulators on the strategic direction of matters
• Support mentoring of junior lawyers and help drive the growth of the practice

Requirements

• Significant experience (ideally 7+ PQE) in Australian competition and consumer law
• Strong advisory and regulatory experience, with litigation experience a plus
• Strong analytical, strategic, and client engagement skills
• A commercial mindset and desire to work in a lean, expert team
