The Directorate is responsible for providing secretariat services to the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA).The Directorate supports the TRBWA's mission of serving the public interest by ensuring that teachers are registered and teacher education programmes are accredited in accordance with relevant legislation and in the best interests of children.The RoleWe are seeking a motivated and collaborative Compliance and Investigations Officer to manage a caseload of applications for teacher registration which require fit and proper (F&P) assessment, including criminal record checks.
You will work in collaboration with the Principal Consultant, ICB, assisting in the implementation of plans, strategies and policies to ensure that investigations into breaches of the Teacher Registration Act 2012 (Act) are handled in accordance with regulatory and legislative requirements.As the Compliance and Investigations Officer, you will assist the Principal Consultant to monitor and report on compliance with legislation, policy and guidelines, required reporting and other activities related to compliance matters, particularly with respect to interacting with the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission.
This means having the experience and skills in the delivery of regulation and/or compliance activities and the ability to interpret and apply legislation, policy or regulatory frameworks in an education environment is essential.Our ideal candidate will possess well developed written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders and balance a customer service focused approach.

Demonstrated well developed organisational skills, including the ability to review and improve workflow processes, prioritise the work of others and develop and implement systems to manage a demanding case load within established timeframes.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively individually and within a team; maintaining confidentiality, and proven ability in accurate document preparation, control, and storage.
