The Department of Justice and Community Safety seeks a Senior Coordinator, Assessments, within Assessments, Applications, and Panel Secretariat, Post Sentence Branch.
About the Business Unit
Corrections Victoria operates Victoria's adult corrections system, including 11 public prisons, one transition centre, and oversees three privately operated prisons.
It aims to rehabilitate offenders by addressing underlying causes of offending behavior.
The Offender Services Division provides interventions to reduce reoffending, including risk assessment, case management, behavioral programs, and reintegration supports.
It manages the post-sentence supervision scheme and post-sentence facilities.
About the Role
This position ensures offenders convicted of relevant offenses are assessed for supervision eligibility under the legislation, and recommendations are based on thorough information analysis by the DSO Review Board.
Note: The role involves exposure to sensitive material related to serious sex and violent offenders.

Identify, collate, and review complex offender information, assess material for completeness, analyze offense histories, and prepare summaries and support for the DSO Review Board.
Prepare reports, briefs, and correspondence for senior executives, including briefings for the Secretary based on DSO Review Board recommendations.
Provide advice and guidance on DSO processes to senior managers, staff, and other agencies.

About You

Ability to understand and apply relevant legislation, procedures, and policies.
Capacity to develop effective relationships with stakeholders.
Skilled in writing complex documentation, including briefs for senior executives.

Qualifications
Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in a correctional or legislative environment are desirable but not mandatory.
